. Tony Iommi, iconic guitarist of Black Sabbath, has been diagnosed with the early stages of the disease, according to a statement issued by the bands publicist. The press release featured a message from the band asking fans to send positive vibes to the guitarist at this time. Iommi is currently working with is doctors to establish the best treatment plan. The Iron Man... remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery, read the statement. The news comes at a pivotal time for Sabbath. Several months ago, the original foursome announced its plans to write and produce their first new studio album in 33 years. Theyve been recording in Los Angeles, but according to Rolling Stone, theyll move production to England to accommodate the guitarist. The album, originally planned for release this fall, is being produced by uber-rock dial twister Rick Rubin. Sabbaths reunion tour was set to kick off May 18 in Moscow, but its unclear if theyll be able to honor
