“ I saw Teena Marie on "Dance Fever" back in the day singing "I Need Your Lovin" and I was totally mesmerized and blown away. That was 30 years ago and she can still rock a live show and burn a microphone. Her voice has remained the same and she can still hit all her high notes. These so-called "artists" of today need to sit down and take notes from a true veteran and see what it takes to write a song and deliver it . Teena is no joke. She is a poet,soulstress,flygirl and the original "lovergirl". All you youngins who weren't around in the late 70s and early to mid 80s cannot fully appreciate what real music sounds like. If you could hang with Rick James, you know your talent had to be above par and Teena is just that. She is above the status quo and is a full bodied diamond and pearl wrapped beautifully in sparkling sapphires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got to cop her new album. I like that song she did with Faith Evans. This song that she did with this artist named Afu-Ra is hot hot hot. If you never hear ”
