Silverchair is an Australian alternative rock band. The band formed as Innocent Criminals in Merewether, Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, in 1992, with their current lineup of vocalist and guitarist Daniel Johns, bass guitarist Chris Joannou, and drummer Ben Gillies.
