Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow) were an English rock band, controlled by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore from 1975 to 1984 and 1994 to 1997. It was originally established with former Elf members, though over the years Rainbow went through many line-up changes with no two studio albums featuring the same line-up. “ Saw them 8/17/78 at the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh. Eddie Money opened (he pissed off the crowd by wearing an Oakland Raiders Stabler Jersey). Rainbow kicked major ass - but Blackmoor was in full prick mode - he dumped wine on fans near the front, and flipped the bird to others. They only played 45 minutes, no encore - the crowd almost tore the place down. I came to find out later that Cozy Powell partied with some local girls before the show and took some bad "stuff" - he collapsed over the drumkit 45 minutes in & that's why the show ended. ”
