“ WELL.....not really PUNK more like a progressive-alternative ROCK band! Listen to all of "After the Snow" and you will understand! One of their last albums, 1990's Pillow Lips album was an attempt to record an album that fit the POP genre, like their ever famous POP song I Melt with You! A new version of the song was included, but the album was a flop for Modern English! I have it and it's a great album! But the masses liked the old Modern English sound and rejected this POP sounding album! The songs are bright / happy tunes that are like ALL the other POP songs of the 80s/90s! I liked it! Beautiful People and Life's Rich Tapestry are 2 great tracks from the album. Let's All Dream is my favorite track! ”

“ Modern English has OTHER songs that are better than Melt With You, but THE SONG is so synonymous with the NEW WAVE 80's, It is the song they will always be known for! They were actually more a PUNK band than a POP band! After the Snow, great album! ”
