I remember many, many years ago when I was 20 I met Miki Bereyni at a gig in the PowerHaus (Angel, London - now, sadly, a Halifax bank!?). I remember drinking very hard with my friends in order to build up the courage to speak to her. I went to the toilet, came out and bumped into her, and immediately blurted out, "I don't wish to sound presumptuous, but has anyone ever said, "Hey Miki, you're so fine/ you're so fine / you blow my mind / Hey Miki! Hey Miki"", I do believe I actually clapped my hands during the "Hey Miki" part. Oh for shame! Miki was absolutely fantastic, because she replied, "No! People usually say "Oh Miki, you're so shit!"" then engaged me in conversation on the subject of her dislike for Everett True (Melody Maker journalist). She was incredibly sweet for engaging in conversation with a very drunken 20 year old. Cheers Miki!
