As with most classic music you don't get it till years later. Iron Butterfly will stand the test of time.

In the late 70's, I saw Butterfly at a small venue in Kenosha, WI. Lineup was basically that from the Metamorphasis album minus Doug Ingle. Performance was just so-so. However, I had the great pleasure to see the band from the InAGaddaDaVida days at a free concert in Houston, TX back in the 90's. It was Ingle's first concert back with them, and likely one of Erik Brahm's last as I understand he died not long after. They were outstanding, in fact for days after my kids kept telling me how right I'd been in saying how great that band was. What a special occasion to not only get to see them, but for Ingle's first time back in all those years.
