Decades:

Canadian Gordon Lightfoot first began to gain recognition in the mid-'60s as a songwriter when his compositions "For Lovin' Me" and "Early Morning Rain" became hits for Peter, Paul & Mary, and Marty Robbins topped the country charts with "Ribbon of Darkness." Lightfoot's own style was understated, his tasteful folk arrangements topped by a gentle burr of a voice. Got the chance to see Gordon at Massey Hall in Toronto where I was living at the time. I was down in the dumps but I saw a concert poster, luckily had enough money to buy a ticket and my life changed for the better! Saw him 3 times since at Massey Hall. One of the very best folk artists in recorded music history. There is a magic to a Lightfoot concert that has to be seen. He plays a lot in Toronto during the summer usually. If you want to see Gord at his best, go to Toronto and see him. It'll change your life too!

Sereously Carp, we need to feel our best days again. Kim Weird was your favorite - I hear she's on the cape now, and I bet we could get her to join us. She never stoppecd loving you, and I know she would have a good time. Please call and we'll make it work again. The years haven't eaten our souls or the memories. Erica

I've been a GL fan since I was 8. I have loved watching his vocal evolution over the years. His new music is still rich with descriptive lyrics and memorable melodies. Thanks Gordon for giving your life to us-your fans! Bobby K
