Alternative/Alt. Rock, Indie Rock

Cloud Tapes are a NYC-based alternative/indie rock band. The band has played shows throughout NYC in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist John Samaras, bassist Sal Pisciotta, and drummer Jeremy Talbott, the band cohesively unites sounds from the last 50 years of music, ultimately coming up with a versatile sound rooted in alternative music of the 90s. The band is always willing to discover new sounds, but if you must compare us to other bands then think Heatmiser, Built To Spill, Wilco and Nirvana.

John Samaras and Sal Pisciotta initially met a gig in Queens, New York after John covered Elliott Smith's "Rose Parade." The two took time to develop some of John's more recent songs that didn't fit the same style as his solo work. After a year of writing, the duo met Jeremy Talbott, a California transplant and a fellow admirer of Smith's music. Since, the band has played shows throughout New York City and have recorded two albums, the one most recent being "If There Were a Reason" released on May 17, 2017.
