I'm now living in Nanjing, China teaching English at a college. I spent the previous year In Lanzhou (northwest China) teaching at Northwestern University for Nationalities. Not sure how long I'll be staying in Nanjing--Kunming or Shenzhen might be my next stop. I've not been back to Canada since I left in 2000. Not sure when, if ever, I will. Seems my personal journey of discovering the world--and self-discovery--isn't quite finished; with no imminent end in sight. Maybe Turkey, Russia or some other fascinating place once I leave China; may be here for a few years yet!
I had the chance to travel through western Europe for nearly 2 months in 2008. It was a dream come true! Got to visit 11 countries by train, which was awesome.
Have a look at my pics which include Europe as well as Thailand and China.
Cheers and b-ha-p whilst listening to the stations I've created!!!!!
Golf, collecting pipes, listening to great music and reading are a few of my main interests.
I'm a huge fan of BBC serial television, particularly crime and detective series. Inspector Morse, Poirot, Waking the Dead, Frost, Wire in the Blood, Rebus, Foyle's War, Miss Marple, Sherlocke Holmes, New Tricks and Midsomer Murders are just some of my favourites.
I like anything so long as it entertains, be it historical, drama, mystery, action thriller or comedy. The Lord of the Rings trilogy remains one of my all-time faves!
Crime fiction and urban fantasy are the highlights of my reading library. My favourite author would have to be Charles de Lint from Ottawa, Canada. Others include Ian Rankin, Charles Todd, Henning Mankell and, of course, Agatha Christie.
