James Keith Smith began his music career at thirteen
While performing as lead singer with the Rock n Roll group, The Crescents.
The group recorded “The Island of Love” and “Walking in the Sun” on the PAZZAZZ label, both of which Smith co-wrote. In the mid 1970’s, he joined the R & B band, the Aristocrats as singer and keyboard player. Smith remained a member of the Aristocrats for several years before deciding to devote his skills to songwriting.
Over the past couple of decades, Smith has written over two dozen songs in the R & B, Contemporary Gospel, Jazz, and Country Western style. “Morning Glory”, published by Smith in 1995 is a standard Western tune played in line dancing clubs across the country.
