February 2, 2013: Now what about that, Jango have a new surprise for us. Leaving me completely friendless here all of a sudden. And stuck with a profile without any pictures. Strange that anybody should place any trust in Jango at all. If their aim were to chase us away they couldn't have done better. Come to me all I say to you who read me here, and join me on Facebook where I have pictures, music (in mp3-format too), and stories for you galore. And whose policy and reputation are without a scratch.
I'm single and unemployed, used to be a translator and teacher. Am a lot into history, also languages, in a passive way: Italian, Hebrew, Sanskrit, Polish and Russian. Wintertime I walk, in the summer I cycle. I am out to share thoughts and feelings with anybody who may wish to take me up. Chat about life really. And share music with, of course.
Music. Walking. Knowledge of the world. The movies. Companionship. The internet, which permits us to indulge in any fancy we may have developed over the years.
Almost exclusively films, provided that they are subtitled in Dutch, German, English, French or Italian.
Alice in Wonderland, All the King's Men, American beauty, Annie Hall, As good as it gets, Autumn tale, Away from her, Benny & Joon, Blast from the past, Bonneville, Brothers, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Cannery Row, Cairo Time, Cast Away, The celebration, The chosen, Cold mountain, Come and see, Coming home, Crazy on the Outside, The crucible, Death on the Nile, Desert Flower, Diminished Capacity, Doctor Zhivago, Dolores Claiborne, Don't Look Back, Easy Rider, Easy virtue, The Edge of Heaven, Frantic, The Good Shepherd, The graduate, The green mile, High Crimes, Howards End, Junebug, Last tango in Paris, Les Nuits d'Alice, Letters to Juliet, Little women, Midnight cowboy, Misty, Night of the iguana, Nothing to lose, One flew over the cuckoo´s nest, On golden pond, Peter's friends, Radio days, Raising Arizona, Remember Me, Roman Holiday, Selling Innocence, The 6th sense, Shellshock, Sophies choice, Sprinter haltlos in die Nacht, The Stranger in Me, Strangers on a train, Thelma & Louise, Toast, Tootsie, Travels with my Aunt, True colors, Via Amalia, Where angels fear to tread, You Can Count On Me.
I read many of them in my day, now I only do some occasional reading on the internet. Mostly the novel in English, detectives too. Also biography and books on history. I do not have any favourite authors. Have read practically everything of Charles Dickens, Kingsley Amis, Joseph Heller, Truman Capote, Raymond Chandler and Graham Greene.
