About Me

I am moved and influenced by some of our great Canadian artist, Neil Young, Sarah Mclachlan, Alanis Morissette, Joni Mitchell and our boys in The Band (Leon Helm's no slouch either). The 'Helpless' video performed by Neil Young and The Band in the Last Waltz, with Joni Mitchell singing backstage, always brings a tear (or two) to my eyes.

Interests

As well as enjoying a wide range of music and being an avid reader of books, I am also particularly interested in recent ideas proposed by quantum physicists. Whereas I believe that everything which we can imagine must already exist ‘somewhere’ (otherwise we wouldn't have any conception of it), some quantum physicists suggest that it is our thoughts that create reality. This notion, long a basic tenet of eastern philosophy, is an interesting theme which is 'brought to life' by Jane Robert’s in her ‘Seth’ series of books.

Television

I like 'The Big Bang' and 'Just For Laughs'

Film

My favourite movies include "The Commitments', 'Meet Joe Black', the original 'Matrix' , 'August Rush' and 'The Girl in the Café'

Books

I love John le Carre, John Brady, Janwillem Van De Wetering and Georges Simenon novels. On the lighter side, I enjoy Rex Stout's 'Nero Wolfe' books. Also, I enjoy reading about recent speculations by quantum physicists, but am not too concerned about their technical proofs; you believe, or you don't.
