11/11/2010, Packing things... healing is slow. But it's getting easier to manage, I think, sometimes anyway. Having fun as much as I can. ...Otherwise cocooning.
...9/24/2010, remembering my wife's birthday for first time without her. "I'd rather be anywhere, than here without you."
Widowed 12/29/09 by cancer after nearly 15 years (8 1/2 married) with a fantastic woman, singer, best friend, soul-mate and kindred spirit [Connie Sue]. We met in a tavern on open mic night where she was singing and I was playing guitar. (Amazing how much God changed her life and mine over time since those days!)
She loved the female singer-songwriters of the 90's, and other classics like Fleetwood Mac. My female artist stations reflect the music we enjoyed and played together, and that I still love and play. The rock and alternative funk are my own likes. I love a ton of music. Now I'm redefining myself and my life, with only her memories here with me. [She's in Heaven, thank God.]
And I like who I am - who God has made me [always in process], and who my wife helped me become. She still motivates me. I'm trying to live life to the fullest that I can, Lord willing, like she did so uniquely well, and wanted for me as well.
"I'll take the best you had to give, and make the most of what you left me with. I'm [just] learning how to live... without you. "
