About Me

I'm Carlyn. I love God, writing, music, and reading. I'm incredibly silly. I want to be an author. I day dream...all the time. I'm constantly lost in thought, even when it seems like I can carry on a conversation. But when someone asks me what I'm thinking about, I always answer "Nothing." I have a poetic mind and a loud voice. I always think it's funny (in a really annoying way) when someone tries to show me a band/song that I knew about years/months before them. I am very loyal. My friends and family mean the more to me than anything else in this world. I vow to myself never to leave them, even if they leave me. I'd be waiting in the wings, because I keep the promises I had made once upon a time. I want to be able to pick up and dust off those who are hurting. I go to a Christian school. I'm working on creating myself. I have a very loud laugh. I hate seeing people being treated badly. I want to make a difference in someone's life. I love trees, mountains, the beach, rain, people's natural beauty, the smell of books, colors, flip flops, school, movies, lazy days, quoting people, and texting.

"I would dream of a world without problems, where magic was undeniably there - where everything had a happy ending."

"Don't tell God how big your storm is... tell the storm how big your God is."

“The writer who possesses the creative gift owns something which he is not always master- something that, at times, strangely wills and works for itself. He may lay down rules and devise principles, and to rules and principles it will perhaps for years lie in subjection; and then, haply without any warning of revolt, there comes a time when it will no longer consent to ‘harrow the valleys, or be bound with a band in the furrow’ - when it ‘laughs at the multitude of the city, and regards not the crying of the driver’ - when, refusing absolutely to make ropes out of sea-sand any longer, it sets to work on statue-hewing, and you have a Pluto or a Jove, a Tisiphone or a Psyche, a Mermaid or a Madonna, as Fate or Inspiration direct. Be the work grim or glorious, dread or divine, you have no choice left but quiescent adoption. As for you - the nominal artist - your share in it has been to work passively under dictates you neither delivered nor could question - that would not be uttered at your prayer, nor suppressed nor changed at your caprice. If the result be attractive, the World will praise you, who little deserve praise; if it be repulsive, the same World will blame you, who almost as little deserve the blame.” Charlotte Bronte

"Most everyone's mad here. You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself." Cheshire Cat

"I love holding a book and knowing that I have knowledge, imagination, and creativity in my hands. It's just a matter of deciding to open it up and read." My sister

"Never give in... never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force.. never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." - Winston Churchill
