Before Jango all I listened to was Jazz and Blues \Rock Eric Clapton style. Now that I have greater exposure I find myself listening to more Country music, which I formerly detested, but now see some value in it. As I am coming back to the Lord after a lengthy hiatus in the World,I now am coming back to Christian music ,Bluegrass Gospel etc.All thanks be to Jesus !!!The internet is a valuable medium where I can find teachings which help complement my daily Bible studies. As well I like strumming about on my guitars trying to create some tunes. Living in northern Canada means a lot of isolation. .Jango helps me get back to my musical roots and laptop gives a lot of choice and helps alleviate loneliness, esp.during long winters.I like getting out meeting friends for coffee and hiking about the territory! I hope to connect with other Believers who live in other parts of the world and exchange thoughts.
I am fairly athletic but because my family moved a lot I mostly got in to solitary sports like jogging or cycling. Also I am a prodigious reader who reads in rainy or wintry cold days all kinds of adventure books. I attend a good church which really gets into presenting good music. Life is good ! Listening to Jango has really let me understand differing musical styles and genres of which there are much more than I previously anticipated. I have listened and studied style and have about thirty music stations to play around with to make them appropriate to the genre they belong to. Having an interesting time on Jango site appreciating music.
I only listen to news and weather in morning to get my bearings straight for 15 minutes or so!
Loved the new film 'CrazyHeart' where the story is actually based on Hank Thompson's long career which degenerated into playing Bowling Alleys and sleazy Honky Tonks. Jeff Bridges wrote some good songs and deserved his Oscar. Also like almost any westerns, not much for computerized films,. Tend to like a bit of realism and outdoor themes in my movies! Like Jeff Bridges new film "True Grit " it also looks oscar material !
I used to like adventure stories about people going on trips down the Amazon or tramping around jungles somewhere.Good detective stories thrill me. Lately books which help me get closer to God are in my best interest Since I don't have television as a distraction my life has gotten less cluttered and confusing as I am not being bombarded with a lot of worldly negativety. I would like to make a few friends on Jango so as to discuss life in other parts of the world, and of course , muisic !
