People talk about material things but what in the world could be better than the words of this song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO_KA9EHJA0
Much varied and always interesting life. Married since my voice broke! lol, Three sons, and a headache from the music. "Ex"all sorts of things and probably ex-husband too if my wife could still run fast enough to catch one of those shirtless, gym-toned beach boys I keep passing on the profile pages!!! lol.
Almost across-the-board musical tastes but pieces as beautiful as this I can listen to for ever... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTiwz1Mrp7E
Can't stand waste, especially the wasting of young lives on the altar of ill-conceived wars which solve damn all yet wholly devalue the principles of decency and conveniently ignore the Commandments that are central to Christianity and, indeed, many other faiths.
Friendships: I'm a happy, positive guy who thoroughly enjoys and values the company of those who add vibrancy, creativity, interest or simple cheerfullness to my site.
RIPPLES ACROSS THE MIND
No courage I want to fight in wars,
Or to bear the horrors of pain,
But the courage to take your hand and say,
"Somehow we’ll find a way".
For our words to bridge the distance,
For our eyes to see the road,
For our minds to feed so many needs,
From the seeds of love they’ve grown.
I would not stand on barren land,
Letting comfort douse my fire,
But I’d reach up to share your cup,
And gasp at the view from higher,
For your love ignites the dampest straw,
It fuels each breath with life,
Lights all I see with sensitivity,
….And that feels kinda nice,
Inspired by your guiding example,
I'll carry your banner of faith,
And thwart all negative tendrils,
So firmly dismissing that wraith
And I’ll walk in the pastures of sunshine,
Revealed since I chanced on your life,
Sip from your fountain of sweetness,
And make something much more of my life,
Cos songs now will carry your message,
In a cloud of your magical mist,
In the hope that vanity and selfishness,
Can, like hatred and evil, be dismissed,
So the rays of your goodness reach further,
And your wisdom gets known as it should,
And the world overflows with belief in God's love,
Cos that’d feel kinda good.

Pain can be felt in so many ways,
Through shattered bones, and troubled days,
But the pain of lost love, as if not enough,
Can't be helped by whipping ourselves.
Children, as other loved ones, are the glue that fixes us to our purposes in life. They are the ones for whom our example should shine so the light of our existence need never completely disappear and the light of theirs may brighten and bless the world in its own time

The new Leicester City anthem.....come on the Sven Men!
(To be sung with gusto, passion and never-fading belief, whatever!!!!)
Those lights aren’t just there for comfort,
Or the sign there is safety ahead,
A beacon for the end of a journey,
Putting all kinds of duties to rest
Those lights are like twinkling saucers,
That to me stand like sentinals proud,
Cos whether from Amsterdam, Frankfurt or Rome,
They’ve guided my angel back home.
An angel who flew like a bird in dark skies,
A shimmer then a shadow in the storms
Of snow or of rain and humanities pain,
She climbed out or banked right on through
To emerge at full throttle defiant,
The thermals, mere playthings, were mocked,
Cos my angel was set on more important things yet.
And a task one could never forget.
And her voice never rose above gentle,
Her manner persuasively calm,
Her unblinking eyes fixed on the worthiest goal,
That defied all to counter her claim,
That what she’d in mind was more than just kind,
And would change two young lives for all time,
So two orphan boys, denied normal joys
Would have fine clothing, Christmas and toys.
And a home where they’d surely feel wanted,
With parents who’d see they were cherished,
Where their health and their happiness mattered,
Where they’d games and a working TV,
Where their friends would be constantly welcomed,
Where they’d have kit that would help them keep fit,
Where their schooling would not be forgotten,
Where a bad start would never grow rotten.
So smile if you look down on those lights,
And remember the story they tell,
Cos those lights don’t just guide a sweet angel home,
Those lights point a better way ahead,
And remind us we all have our brightness,
If only we’d flick down the switch,
Cos though jobs may be short in our much-troubled land,
Angels are much in demand….

* All life is played out on God’s stage. We are merely His players. Some will seek the limelight, others will catch the limelight and some will shun the limelight. But the limelight matters not for it is God who writes the reviews and publishes them on the soul of each one of us. Dreamweaver! (Inspired by Sherry)
*A friend is your needs answered. A field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving. Kahlil Gilbran (The Prophet)
A special song for Sarah, asleep now after blessing us with such a precious daughter and granddaughter. Your light will be as the glorious shafts of golden sunshine on a clear day, your love as the twinkling goodness of falling raindrops in a summer shower and your memory enduring, and with as many aspects, as the seasons in all their splendour. May God bless you and keep you til we meet again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ITQ5zprh3U
Definition of a father's love: "I do not need anything in this world other than to see you and your brothers successful and caring about each other". (From Takwa)
* It’s ironic. I tried fighting only to discover that, even if you win the day, there is more fighting to do tomorrow. Then an angel said, “try loving without conditions or expectations."

ODE TO SAMANTHA JASMINE
What words can describe one so fair?
What music can play with such rapture?
What verses can sing.
Of the caring within?
What aching of love stems despair?
Chorus:- And my eyes rest awhile as you slumber,
And my ears catch the rhythm of your breath,
And the gently drumming sound of your heartbeat,
Samantha Jasmine, such a blessing we hath.
You were gathered at night to our breast,
With five million friends by your side,
Cotton dancers in white,
Reflecting new light,
Your essence the moonbeams caressed.
Scented snowflakes fell soft in Damascus,
Lingering as they played on the breeze,
Beijing’s joy, soldiers muted,
But Hawaii had no need to ask us.
As garlanded girls in the twilight,
Paid tribute in dance to pikake,
In their grass skirts they twirled,
Each at one with the world,
Was there ever a more glorious sight?
In Persia you were hailed as a gift straight from God,
Your offspring spread right round the globe,
Three-hundred there be,
Whose kind proclaims ye,
“Sweet mother,” though far they’ve been trod
i tasted of thee sipping Dragon Pearl tea,
Through India, China and Morocco,
Born free and unbounded,
Until guest calls were sounded
As wedding bells, ringing out with glee.
Now with fragrance more calming than pine after rain,
Your presence serves to banish all stress,
With anxieties at bay,
Fatigue drifts away,
Love abounds and takes up the strain.
Forever you dwell in a world of pure snow
Spreading petals of love all around,
Lifting broken folk higher,
Your spirit makes our world all aglow.
Chorus:- And my eyes rest awhile as you slumber.
And my ears catch the rhythm of your breath,
And the gently drumming sound of your heartbeat
Samantha Jasmine such a blessing we hath.

Endless. You name it, I'm interested. I'll have enough time to be bored when I'm buried.
But in particular: My wonderful family, playing golf, following my home town football team , watching my sons and grandsons play squash, writing, running my business, visiting places, reading, attending concerts, theatre, music, art, giving and receiving poetry, photography, enlightening, interesting and amusing conversation, history, anything to do with antiques and their background, meditation, yoga, wine and gourmet food (my youngest son is a chef) philosophy, natural healing and anything to do with exploring the boundaries of the mind and its powers.
Oh yes,and preserving the sanctity of my special meadow in the fields of Leicestershire as a haven of beauty, peace, soaring inspiration, gratitude for the wondrous colours of my life and such a love as has made my whole being overlflow with a joy that could never be fully expressed, nor would I ever wish to forget.
My favourite passage of poetry is part of the first piece written by a dear friend, aged seven, who has also suggested she might introduce me to the emerging new language of Gerglish that she seems to be inventing....
"Cookies and milk keep me skinny
Cause I don’t eat that many........
(but) Tony ate so much cake
He grew so much weight
It just made me laugh out loud and what can feel better than that?
Hussle. Every caper they get up to just appeals to me.
House - Fascinating entertainment. The bloke just makes his own rules and I'll wave a banner for that..
Erin Brockowicz - Julia Roberts has long been easy on the eye, happens to have the talent to go with it and I love stories where the little man puts one over the corporate muscle men.
The Prophet by Khalil Gibran. Anything by Clive Cussler - he seems to have lived the life as well as told the stories and Khalil Gibran is an inspiration. Battle for Badger's Wood and The Breaking Sword (both were written by my late and wonderful friend Frederick Covins. The former was turned into a television film). You'll See it When You Believe It (Dr. Wayne W. Dyer).
