I am an EFL teacher in a Christian high school in Japan. I love my students. They put a smile in my heart.
I love God's creation around us, so you'll find me under a maple or cherry blossom tree reading my Bible or a history book and drinking coffee when I have the time. My reveries include dreaming about heaven-- the way the world is supposed to be and not the aberration it is. I also play tennis and love animals--especially fuzz balls like Persian cats and hamsters. My sister says that when God was finished creating the animals, He had some little beady black eyes and a bit of fur left over, so He made hamsters. She also says that hamsters were made for food just because their eyes are on the sides of their heads! Isn't that mean?! To make matters worse, my sister told me I should put my hamster to sleep when he lost all of his hair due to some hereditary condition. But so what if he looked liked a little piece of chicken running around on the floor, he's still my little guy! If you were also traumatized by an older sibling, please let me know. ;O)
I'm not really into television. It's kind of a big waste of time. OK... I like Gomer Pyle! Shazam!
Ben-Hur, The Lord of the Rings, Brother Sun Sister Moon, The Right Stuff, The Memphis Belle, To Kill a Mockingbird, Trip to Bountiful, Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory, White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, Yankee Doodle Dandy, old classic movies (anything with Bogart or Crosby), cheesy 50's science fiction movies (The Crawling Eye, Attack of the Mushroom People, Invaders from Mars, Them, The Blob) and other goofball stuff!
The Bible, The Light and the Glory, From Sea to Shining Sea, anything by C.S. Lewis, Andrew Jackson: American Lion
