Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace those while you can!
‘Tis the Human Touch in this world that counts,
The touch of your hand and mine,
Which means fare more to the fainting heart
Than shelter and bread and wine;
For shelter is gone when the night is o’er,
And bread lasts only a day,
But the touch of the hand and the sound of the voice
Sing on in the soul always.

Be encouraged today, dear friends. We have so much to be grateful for….
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"
The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."
I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."
Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have.
Think differently and positively.
When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry,
show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.
Face your past without regret.
Handle your present with confidence.
Prepare for the future without worry.
Keep the faith and drop the fear.
For Sharon At Christmas
In the summer of several years
I learned to care for the simple gifts of life
Laughter, memories, friends and soft music
All mixed with gentle smiles and soft soothing thoughts
Running together like water over a tired body.
And I found someone with whispers of wisdom
And fire in her eyes that spoke my language
And did not hide from my glances.
Did you know I loved you then, even when you were young?
And as the years gave you the presence of
Goodness and even greater understanding
I found that two minds can meet, even if but for seconds
And the memory will linger.
Between your very good and graceful words
I knew you were restless and ready to begin your
Journies from the caverns and haunts of youth.
Did you know that I had traveled the same road
But some few years earlier, and had learned with my tears?
Be gentle, and do not forget your soft springtime rhythms-
There are nights that have not fallen,
And dawns that have not broken
All waiting for the touch of your fingers, tinged with your
Special spark and peaceful love.

I continue learning through travel, music, work and creative crafts. I seek out activities that challenge my mind and allow my creative self to be expressed. I believe we can learn from each other if we take the time to stop and really listen.
To maintain relationships you must be kinder than necessary, be accepting, and most of all, be forgiving. Life is about give and take. How can you know what you might receive if only you would give of yourself? I believe in helping each other, as we all need encouragement. I try to show random acts of kindness when I can. The unexpected is sometimes the most valuable.
"The courage to Be, is the courage to accept oneself -in spite of being unacceptable" -Paul Tillich
"We are, each of us, angels with only one wing, and we can only fly embracing each other." -- Luciano Decrescenzo
What I have learned:
Everyone is fragile and easily bruised, so tread lightly.
What is essential is invisible to the eye, so look beyond the outer shell.
You will have eternity to think about what you did today...
...Did you make it count?
Ton bonheur dans la vie dépend de la qualité de tes pensées
Your happiness in life depends on the quality of your thoughts
Il n’est jamais trop tard pour être ce que tu aurais voulu être
It is never too late to be what you wanted be.
Si quelqu'un a laissé une empreinte positive sur votre coeur, dites-leur donc.
If someone has left a positive impression on your heart, tell them so.
Je veux te mettre dans mon cœur pour ne jamais te perdre
I want to put you in my heart to never lose you.
I believe setting a goal for yourself is important. Not the goal itself, but the fact that you have a dream to work towards achieving in your life. It is how we continue to grow and add meaning to our life. Goals make you assess what you must be willing to do to accomplish that goal. Goals allow you to measure how far you have come.
Goals can be changed at the whim of the heart's desire.
Change equals growth.
Experience allows for choices.
Having choices allows you to enjoy your life to the fullest.
My life, and time for my living, breathing friends gets in the way of any time that I would have for television.
