“ i've just added a new station called "Mariza". she is a very popular Portuguese "fado" singer. she was born in the former Portuguese colony of Mozambique. i remember when you studies Portuguese at Pasadena City College you referred to the language as "lazy Spanish". I studied Portuguese 10 years ago. i find it a very beautiful language, i love the soft "shhh" sounds. as you know, the written language looks a lot like Spanish but the spoken laguage is a world apart. I visited Portugal about 10 years ago and found the people to be very gentle. i think Portugal is the only country that colonised other lands by means of trade and not by violence ”
