I'm a typical girl trying to make it through this world. I try to make everything I do revolve around Christ. Yeah, it's a hard goal to accomplish, but I'm working on it! =)

I'm now single, so yeah. . .

I just got a perm on Saterday (10)! I have some curls now, finally! It took 6 hours to complete it. Also, 4 boxes of perm solution, and 172 rollers. Yeah, but it was all good in the end. So from now on, the pictures of me will be with curly hair. I'm excited!

I'm not the brightest person you'll meet. . . I'm kind of clumsy, but I will ALWAYS have a smile on my face. =)

My Birthday is October the 12th. Yay! =)

I LOVE to have fun! Just ask my friends. . . I guess I really come to life during fun things. Watch out, because I'll go on a hyper streak! ;)

Singing is my "passing the time" thing. LOL! I will always have a tune stuck in my head that I have to release through my lips. Sorry, it sounded cool. ?

I don't wear mascara, or however you spell it. I also don't wear lipstick, or lots of eyeshadow. I don't have fancy hairstyles like most girls, a simple ponytail will do! :) I do not cuss, because it's wrong. My family doesn't cuss either.

I am kind of shy around people I don't know well. . . so, if I never talk to you, it's because I don't know how to start a conversation or I'm scared to talk to you. Don't take it offending please!

I don't have a thing for body piercings. I can take earrings, but other. . . ugh. . .

I Want More! (1)

We complain every day. Maybe even every few minutes. Why do we complain? How do you stop? I'l answer these questions using a metaphor.

Have you ever noticed whenever you feed your pets, say a dog, they always seem to want more? Like my dog, Buddy. He scarfs down the food I give him in less than a minute. When I walk past the door, I see him in the corner of my eyes, staring at me with huge, black puppy eyes. They seem to cry, "More! More!" But, if I were to feed him more, he'd just want more and more until he exploded!

Now, let's switch characters. We're the dogs, and Jesus is our Master. After Jesus feeds us our living bread, we scarf it down, like Buddy. When Jesus walks past us, He sees us staring at Him. We beg for more earthly things rather than spiritual food. But, being a good Master He is, He only feeds us what we need. Not too much, not too less.

So, why do we complain? Earthly things lure us away from the Truth. We see something we like that gives us joy, but that joy only lasts for a short time.

How do we stop complaining? Well, being imperfect humans, we aren't always going to be satisfied. But, we can try to be. Focusing on God, reading the Bible, praying, and many other things can help out with feeling spiritually full.

Thank the Lord for what He has given you! You never know when He might just reward you with a treat!

Distractions (2)

Have you ever noticed how when you're busy doing something fun, your parents, sibling, or pet will interrupt, or distract you? What exactly does distract mean? Distract means to interrupt the process of something. Here is an example to help show you what I'm getting at.

I love playing on the computer. I can sit for hours at a time, talking to friends, editing my page, or adjusting the music to be played on my account for Jango. And then, of course, a parental figure will come into play. Mom, for instance. She comes in the room and says to get off of the computer so she can check her emails. I get frustrated and hand the computer over after saying "good bye" to my friends. Mom is the distraction in this case. She distracted me from playing on the computer.

Now, there ARE different types of distractions. There are people, places, things, animals, and many other different types of distractions.

Another name for distractions is temptations. Jesus was tempted in every way possible. He didn't get distracted and sin though. In fact, He just avoided it.

There are two types of distractions: good and bad. With my first example, Mom distracted me for my benefit. It wasn't pleasant at the time, but I realize she was helping me nudge the temptation to stare at a screen for a few hours. The bad example is being distracted from the Truth. Doing something wrong, you might say.

So, what I'm trying to say, is that being distracted is sometimes a good thing, but mostly a bad thing. Hope you learned the lesson I did in reading this!

Your Time to Shine! (3)

We've all heard the expression "It's your time to shine!" Of course, this is used in theatrical purposes or preformances. The director usually says this to an actor or actress when their part is coming up in the preformance. It encourages them to do well, and please their "master".

Let's say that God is our director. We are the actor or actress. We have a huge preformance in font of us: to share the Word with everyone. If you think about it, our life is a big preformance. We are to do our best, no matter what the circumstances. When God calls us and says, "It's your time to shine!", I imagine us walking on a huge platform in front of millions with a piece of paper in our hands, acting as a script. We begin to stutter, but when we realize people are listening, we feel comfortable and begin to shout to everyone our script. Then, we drop our script and just tell it as it is.

After our preformance, we are applauded, then walk back stage to see how we did in our Director's eyes.

We should act like this in every day life. We should seem to shout the Word to others and not care what they think.

I hope that if I can do that, my Director would say, "Well done, good and faithful actress!"

Caring for Others (4)

We are called, by God, to care for people. We have to help people through their tough times. And, our biggest job ever - to bring people to Christ. So, how do we do this? And, why do we have to care for others spiritually and phisically?

Wev'e probably all heard of the Good Samaritan. We go around bragging about how well we know this and other stories, but do we really have it memorized? Do we tell it just to make people jealous, but not think of what the story's purpose is?

The Good Samaritan is about a man who was traveling down a dirt path. He was on the lookout for robbers. But, he didn't know how to avoid them if they were to come. Robbers came out from hiding and beat him. They robbed him of his money and other things, and left him half dead on the ground.

A well dresses man happened to pass by on the same road. He saw the man on the ground, dying. But, he was in a hurry. The man said he'd help him when he returned from his mission.

Time passed, and the man never returned.

Another man passed by the dying man. He, too, was in a hurry. He didn't even want to deal with the man. He passed, and left the man for death.

That is, until the Good Samaritan showed up. He was on a mission like the other two. (Now, back then, certain people didn't associate with others. Ex: Samaritans and Jews) The Samaritan stopped and nursed the man's wounds, then put him on his donkey and rode him back to his house. He cared for him, and nursed him back to health, and he survived.

We need to be like the Good Samaritan. Every day, we meet different challenges we never see coming. Some of those might be a (spiritually speaking) dying person. Inside, they hurt. They are confused and need help. They've tried other people, but none want to mess with them. You start being the Good Samaritan, and try to heal their "cuts" and nurse them back to health.

So, why do we need to care for others? Well, first of all, Jesus told us to. Why did He tell us to? Who would ever hear the Word and what Jesus did for us? Who would care for anybody if no one cared for them? We need to realize, that those questions ARE the answers. Look deeper, and in your heart, you'll find a soft spot in your heart. Yes, this is what you use to help others. That brings me to my next question. . .

How do we care for others? Some people say that caring for others is difficult, and like the men that left the man to die, they don't fool with people. Yes, caring can be sometimes hard, especially when you don't have answers. But really, caring is easy. A simple word can change someone, and their heart. This devotion I'm writing can help other people. People can take this and share it. Soon, it might be a "chain reaction".

My purpose is not to write these devotions just so you can laugh and think I'm cute. I'm trying to reach people and bring them to Christ. I am not doing this for my pleasure. I'm doing this for you. I'm trying to care and help you.

God and people are trying to care for you. Will you let them nurse your wounds?
