03.26.08 Ooops.. Left out one important fact. Ms. S. now refers to herself as "Issa" (-eee-sah-) and has new material under that name. Check out her new site, "issalight.com". You'll be pleasantly surprised methinks. |

03.26.08 I was fortunate enough to see her magnificence in 1984 in Denver, CO. The tour was promoting "No Borders Here" ("Mimi on the Beach"). She was in telepathic communication with her band (sooo tight) and played a joyful and generous show for the deleriously enchanted crowd of 40 or so people who had turned out. (sigh..) One of the few times I have been embarassed to be a Coloradan. Anyway, afterwards, she and the band spent a good deal of time to speak with any of the audience who cared to. This is a grand lady of bountiful spirit who truly performs her art (music or poetry) for the sheer love of it. Surely it would be a blessing if there more like her. (Is it obvious that I like her?) |
