04.08.08 When I was in the US Army in 1985 in Germany, I caught a taped delayed Saturday Night Live hosted by Teri Garr, anyway this band from England came on as one of the musical acts. They were called the Dream Academy, and they came out and played " Life in a Northern Town" and I was blown away. It was a surreal song with I thought provoking melodic lyrics, and I went to the BX and bought their CD the next day. Never have I been so moved immediately by a band who I only wish were still around though i here they are reuniting under a new name called " The Excellant Staircase" and making a new cd, with if true I will immediately purchase. |
