Sam Roark , nicknamed Americas' Honky Tonk Angel was born and raised in Manchester, a small southeastern Kentucky town in Clay County. She started singing at age 3 and playing piano at age 5. She was also very active in high school activities, playing basketball, softball, and running track, while also singing in the chorous and playing several instruments in the band. Sam also earned a Black Belt in Karate by the time she was 13 and won many matches in her division both nationally and internationally. In August 2010 Sams' debut professional album "Check Out Girl" was recorded on Kat Records at Nashvilles' Bayou Recording Studio and produced by country music veteran Joe Sun and released at the Clay Co. KY Days Festival,the following month, Labor Day weekend to a large and appreciative crowd. Her first 3 released singles have all made the Top 10 of several well known secondary country music charts including Nashvilles New Music Weekly Magazines' Main Country Top 40 where "The Sound Of A Woman Saying Goodbye" , "Check Out Girl", and most recently "Oh Baby" peaked in order at No. 9, 5, and 7. In the same sequence they were also No. 2, 5, and 4 on NNMW's Indies' Country Top 30. "Check Out Girl" remained at No. 3 for 6 consecutive weeks on South Carolinas well known Cashbox Magazines' Roots Music Reports' Pop Country Top 50. Her music has garnered lots of positive publicity such as having her biography for the CD release written by the late Patsi Bale Cox who was Garth Brooks publicist for over 20 years and helped the likes of Tanya Tucker, Loretta Lynn, and Wynonna Judd among many more pen their autobiographies and she said Sam is a talent that demands to be heard and once you listen you will never forget Sam Roark, mentioned twice in Nashvilles' Music Row magazine by highly regarded music critic, Robert K. Oremann, featured on Microsoft Windows Media Music Guides main page with mega stars Madonna and Beyonce and labeled Kentuckys' Country Gem, for over 2 weeks, legendary Nashville singer, songwriter, producer, Cowboy Jack Clement lauded Sam for the innate "calming" quality of her voice, and highly praised by a Priest in the UK who sales CDs for Amazon and said in his daily blog "The MadPriest Digs Of Course, I Could Be Wrong" Samantha was the most talented new country singer he had heard in a long long time and reminded him so much of the great country female singers of the 60s and 70s. Also "Oh Baby" was the No.11 song of the year for the popular Lake Placid FL Countrybear Internet Radios' 2012 Country Top 100. "Oh Baby" also stayed at No.4 for 2 weeks on Japans' DJ Tom Kawais' Real Country Top 200 Chart which is sponsered by Nashvilles' WHIS News21.
