Katrise is an Orlando based R&B producer, songwriter, and artist. With 15 years of recording, songwriting, and production experience, she has collaborated with a wide array of writers and artists. She grew up listening to musical greats such as Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Natalie Cole, Lauryn Hill, Tony Toni Tone, Mary J. Blige, The Temptations and more R&B greats. Nevertheless, her primary influence has not stopped her from challenging herself with other genres from reggae to rock. She calls herself an, “all around producer/songwriter.”
Katrise most recently joined forces with super producer, songwriter, international chart credited, and smooth jazz artist Bobbi "Funkee Boy" Tammaro (Body Music/Rise), Smooth Jazz, R&B, Latin, Soul singer-songwriter-artist Leila (Sexy Saxophone f. Eric Darius/Soul Ascension), and singer-artist and 3 time American Idol semi-finalist Tevin-Michael (The Man in Me) to record her original "Options." The track was produced by Funkee Boy who also lent his killer keys and arrangements with velvety yet strong vocals by Tevin-Michael as a duet with the beautiful, yet powerful voice of Ms. Leila! The track received overwhelmingly positive feedback on both Jango and social networking sites such as Facebook within the first few weeks of its release. It's also available as a download from CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon MP3.
On March 15, 2010, Katrise released her first commercial album effort, “Embrace My Music Vision,” a twelve track R&B album with songs that are all thoroughly tied to the deepest inner recesses of her love for music. Tracks such as "Play Me Some Music," "Energy," and "Embrace the Vision" were graced with beats composed by the ever talented music producer, B Rob of B Rob Productions. All songs were written, produced, composed (with the exception of B Rob's 3 musical tracks), and performed by Katrise. The album is available on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and Napster among other distributers. Singles such as “Energy” and “Slide With Me” are currently airing on various Internet and FM format stations. One of the songs from her album, “Groove Again (Slide Part 2),” received Honorable Mention from the Song of the Year 2009 songwriting contest.
Katrise further collaborated with Chicago land’s Songs 2 Share President, Roberta Annicks on songs such as “uBoy,” “Fly in the Kitchen,” and “Just This Once” all available for license through Songs2Share.com. Both “uBoy” and “Fly in the Kitchen,” contain lyrics written by Annicks, while Katrise did the musical arrangements, performance, and production on the tracks. “Just This Once,” lyrics by both Annicks and Schroeter, was also arranged, produced, and performed by Katrise.
Other notable projects include co-writing with Boston based writer Shawn Lopes on tracks such as “Half Step/Whole Step,” “Good Girls,” and “When I See You,” all indie chart toppers on Artistopia in the R & B category. Furthermore, Katrise composed, arranged, and produced the entire musical soundtrack for popular Purdue University news magazine show, “The Fast Track” in West Lafayette, IN. The show had quite a following on the local level with some 35,000+ viewers and is still on the air today. It can be found on Purdue University’s cable network, Lafayette, IN’s WLFI channel 18, and Youtube. Katrise can further be heard singing background vocals on tracks from, “Life, Love, Lessons & Jazz,” an independently released album by an artist local to Orlando Kendra Legare. One notable track from that album is entitled, "Is He Gonna Treat Me Right?," which was produced by Glenn Feit giving Katrise the unique and rare opportunity to work with Mr. Feit right in his home studio (alongside Kendra). Later on Orlando based saxophonist JoAnna Fleming graced the track with some brilliant sax licks.
With various musical accomplishments under her belt, it is clear that Katrise’s new single, "Options," her young album, “Embrace My Music Vision,” and other notable projects are not just dormant titles, but real music that is being shared with the world at large.
