Ween is an American alternative rock group formed in 1984 in New Hope, Pennsylvania when Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween) met in an eighth grade typing class. Ween has a large underground fanbase despite being generally unknown in American pop music. The band's style is hard to pin down, as they are known for using several music styles, sometimes even combining contrasting styles.
