Hi, we are a band that loves nothing better than writing songs that honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The name Thirty-Nine Thoughts is derived from the beginning of the crucifixion scene as noted in Mark 15:15 where Jesus was ordered to be flogged. Jewish law at that time was to flog the individual with no more than 40 lashes. So as not to exceed the number 40, the custom was to stop one lash short of 40. During each of these 39 lashes, Jesus was thinking of you and of me in taking our sins upon Himself. Thirty-nine lashes... Thirty-Nine Thoughts.
