Hailing from the inner city suburbs of Sydney, The Presence produces a dynamic “rocktail” by mixing hard-hitting riffs, contagious beats and roof-raising rhythms. The result sounds a bit like a mixture of AC/DC, Jet and Megadeth. The Presence proudly writes, produces, promotes and performs its own original music and is determined to be a pioneering independent artist in the digital age.
The Presence stormed into the commercial rock scene with the release of their popular debut single ‘Now I know better’. The band's second single (with video clip) 'All I want is your Love' has proved to be an epic follow-up. The band's third single 'Back Off' is to be released shortly.
In 2008 The Presence took to the stage at World Youth Day playing alongside artists such as Diesel and Vanessa Amorosi at the St Vinnies World Youth for Justice Charity concert. The band has been featured in interviews and performances on both radio and T.V. including Triple M’s Ugly Phil radio show and Channel 7’s Today Tonight (‘The New Generation of Rock’).
David Lancaster rips out roof-raising vocals whilst strumming on the bass guitar, Julian Leuzzi and Riley Moore pump out the hard-hitting riffs and catchy rhythms on guitar and Matthew McHugh thumps out contagious drum beats. David and ‘Jules’ grew up in the same street and were fortunate enough to be taught by both David’s father Alan, a founding member of Status Quo, and neighbour John Brewster from The Angels. Matt is a lifelong friend of the Lancaster family and Riley grew up in the same suburb as the rest of the band.
The Presence is planning to rock the socks off people worldwide on their debut overseas tour in 2012. So get your hardhats ready, because The Presence is coming to blow the roof off a venue near YOU.
