Based in London, The Jude have been smashing the local gig scene with their self-proclaimed “vicious skiffle” - punchy, energetic and dance-friendly rock ‘n’ roll. Their debut release ‘Ha Ha Goodbye’ charted in the iTunes Alternative Chart at #8 in April 2011. This position was driven by radio strength with XFM playlisting; and XFM’s John Kennedy, 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio London’s Gary Crowley all championing the track with frequent airplay.
Follow-up single ‘Les Filles Francaises’ was even more successful – receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, XFM, video rotation on NME TV, and featured on Music Week Presents and Record of the Day. The song was also Huw Stephen's 'Tip of the Week' on Tom Robinson's BBC Introducing show. Later in Feb 2012 'Les Filles Francaises' was added to the BBC Radio 1 Playlist; being played by Fearne Cotton, Scott Mills, Dev, Greg James, Huw Stephens, Edith Bowman, and Nick Grimshaw & Annie Mac. Latest single 'Heartbreaker' (released on 12 March 2012) again received widespread regional airplay and was described by XFM's John Kennedy as their "excellent new single".
The band’s dynamism transmits compellingly in their live shows too. With numerous gigs and festivals under their belts, they’ve been busy captivating crowds with their charm and irresistibly infectious melodies. With more shows and music planned for this year, The Jude are proving they are an exciting and incredibly driven act that are here for the long run.
