The Edge Of Beyond is a Thrash/Metal band that incorporates many Symphonic, Power and Progressive elements into their music! The band hails from Osage Beach/Lake of the Ozarks Missouri, and was formed by solitary composer/metal shredding guitarist Razael Wickham in 2003. Razael's mission and goal is to bring back the 80s Thrash style with a new Symphonic Industrial edge. Founder and mastermind for the band, Razael has spent the past 5 years as task master & teacher seeking & training other musicians who were talented and dedicated, while perfecting the bands sound. Though having several line up changes over the years, that has not kept Raz from keeping the band alive by relocating to Thrashville TN, to complete the lineup with musicians capable of playing his vision. After enduring Raz's musical boot camp, the band now has the most solid and talented members ever! Based on the literary works of Razael, the music itself is dark, melodic, edgy, and powerful to epic proportions. From the technical ear-splitting metal riffs and heart warming solos to the deep meaningful & thought provoking lyrics, The Edge of Beyond is a sonic assault on the senses. Their EP, entitled Warhorses Of The Dawn, contains the bands most well-known songs including the self titled track Warhorses of The Dawn and Shadow Heart as aired on local Missouri radio stations including 100.1 The Buzz. After winning the Hometown Buzz by a landslide of votes in October 2004, The Edge of Beyond has become well known around the mid MO area with a very respectable following. Having disgust with todays metal scene, with its screaming vocals and simplistic guitar playing, it is the bands goal to bring back music that not only makes a point, but has something for the scorned and quick-witted to relate to. Our goal is to not worry so much about reaching the top of the charts, but to make music that really means something. Music should help people with their everyday lives and influence the listener on a personal, musical, and artistic level. We want to make real music that’s going to get you stirred up and make you think. Our music affects you in such a way that it becomes symbolic yet elemental, where it will always be remembered and never destroyed or forgotten. Though having apocalyptic, fantasy-styled themes, the music does not stray from relation to the audience. One of the things we have aimed to do, since the music is based on the The Edge Of Beyond story, was to make sure that it followed the storyline, while being universal in the subject matter. Since there are so many things going on at once in the music, the listener has the choice on the subconscious level to focus on what they perceive, giving good replay value as something new is heard each time. The rage conveyed in the songs expresses the heavy action of the battles in the story and mind of the writer, while the deep emotion portrays the many feelings of the characters in relation to the listener and scorned life of the writer, giving a very cathartic experience. In essence, the music and or album(s) are an operatic saga of an alternate world at war, adapting Razael's 9 chapter story of The Edge Of Beyond Saga! Thus supporting an epic journey of Raz's Thrash Symphonies for metal and classical fans alike! Influenced by bands and musicians such as Megadeth, Judas Priest, Metallica, Pantera, and others, Razael is ready to lead his men into battle and take the world by storm!
