Guildford based Rock/Alternative act The Antidote formed in early 2011 but have already toured poland with superband UK Legends made up from Thin Lizzy, The Animals and Smokey and taken warsam by storm!
Inspired by Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Foo Fighters and Oasis The Antidote connect the spontaneity within music to their performance. Lead singer Moritz Muller aka "the ritz" says:"There is something magical that happens when bands like Oasis perform, you can see an energetic connection between the creative genius of Noel and the arrogant showmanship of Liam!"
The band formed of Moritz on vocals and violin bass, Colin Marshall aka The Polar Bear on drums , Joe Jeffryes and Jack Barclay both on guitar consider themselves to be a tightly connected family. Jack is definitely the "baby" of the band as only 19 and Joe by default has taken the role of a calming grandfather. A true english country gent from the surrey countryside, his favourite item is a vintage pocketwatch and the occasional cigar. Colin certainly takes the part of the band entertainer with his never ending positiv attitude, charm and jokes while Moritz leads the band as the main songwriter and frontman.
The Band can also build on a myriad of international influences as Colin comes from the wide open spaces of Canada, Moritz from Stuttgart, a beautiful city where he has spent more than one contemplative late night looking over the beautiful city lights. Jack, like Joe also from Surrey spent many years living in america where he ahs developed a love of all thoughts americana including fender guitars.
The band are already playing on the camden circuit and have supported the likes of Nylon Sky and Evaline. An early encounter this year saw them booked on the warsaw tour of superband UK LEGENDS made up of former members of thin lizzy, the animals and smokey, such was their success when playing in poland they have been booked for possible support slots on various international festivals next summer.
Having a Jeff Buckley moment recently the band started to get a taste for the high life, the band were invited to a tasting session at Cavendish House in Mayfair. Sampling the vintage the vintage and dresses up in suits the boys subsequently packed their pockets with wine glasses full of the good stuff, having found themselves surrounded by a Made-in-Chelsea crowd they made a sharp exit which included climbing down a fire escape and batting a room of mannequins without spilling a drop.
Currently the band is engaged in planning their festival slots and studio time to record the new EP which will be released April/May 2012, a music music video for soon available single "Losing my Illusion" is in the making, also the outcome of a photoshoot at famous sapphire studios in london will soon follow.
