Songwriting duo Michael Hayes and Andy Santospago formed the Vinyl Skyway in 2003, with a debut that captured the attention NPR's All Songs Considered and KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. The group's break-out sophomore LP was described by the Boston Globe as a "headphone record of exquisitely crafted pop." Certainly they were (and are) a "label-worthy" band whose sound consists of gorgeous harmonies, hook-laden melodies and lush instrumentation inspired by the Beatles, Big Star and CSNY.

The group reunited in 2011 to record and release their third album entitled "Return of the Dead Surfer". Hayes and Santospago are joined in the studio by pianist Dave Lieb, bassist Marc Hickox and drummer Andy Plaisted (as well as many other musician members of the Vinyl Skyway family).
