T.Rich Biography
Tramel “T.Rich” Richardson, is a rapper-singer born in Independence, Kansas. He moved to various places with his mother and military step-father like Texas, DC, Germany, Virginia and North Carolina but spent most of his years in Raeford, NC. He first discovered his love for music when in the fifth grade, he auditioned for the Aladdin solo at his school and while performing he forgot the words and improvised his segment. The crowd did not notice and he won the part for Aladdin. This is when he fell in love with music and being on stage. Some of the artist that have inspired him are Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Donny Hathaway, Milli Jackson and Diddy because he is the hardest working man in entertainment. His biggest influence has been his mom because as a single child she has instilled in him that he can be whoever he wants to be.
He attended North Carolina Central University and discovered his passion for rapping when he was a freshman. The first rap album he listened to was Dr. Dre’s the Chronic. He would sneak and listened to it over and over because he liked Dre’s flow and the way he produced the album. This inspired him to use his singer-rapper abilities to become a different type of artist. He has expressed that he likes to sing because women love it, and that he likes to rap because there are certain ways of getting a message across that singing cannot do. “The type of music I do doesn’t fit into just one genre, I am very versatile.” T.Rich is a musical genius who creates music that people can relate to.
He wants his fans to know that it is not about the money and fame, but about relating to his fans and telling his story. “All my music is in my head, the beat speaks to me and words come out. I use the things that I go through in my life like relationships, family and work.” So its always about the fans. T.Rich biggest dream is to become the first artist to win a Grammy for best R&B and Hip Hop artist in the same year.
