One sunny day in Los Angeles, 14-year-old Sydney Harrison woke up with a sudden, burning desire to play the piano. She wanted to be able to re-create all the music she loved, and to bring the music in her head to fruition. As she began learning classical piano, her desire to explore many genres grew, and she soon found herself in love with jazz, pop, and rock as well. After a year of practicing piano, Sydney wrote her very first song. She hasn't been able to stop writing since.
Sydney's love of jazz and pop/rock drove her to choose to attend Boston's Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, she writes and plays everything from Baroque counterpoint to jazz ballads to up-tempo pop songs. She draws inspiration from all of it and lets all genres influence her style.
A California native, Sydney spends her time off from school in LA, playing open mic's all around the city. In August 2013 she recorded her song "Northern Lights" with producer Rob Mullins in his student-to-artist program (check him out at www.planetmullins.com!). This single has just been released on iTunes, Amazon, and YouTube!
