Sweet Interference Music

Sweet Interference plays Art-Rock with Zappa-esque melodies and a driving back beat. Listening to SI is like a driving in a new city with all new sights, sounds and traffic patterns that may seem confusing at first but it all makes sense for this city.

Hailing from Washington, DC Sweet Interference is a unique indie rock band that combines a wide arrange of musical influences to create their own blend of music. The band is currently in the studio working on their fourth full length album, The Falling In and Out, due for a July 2011 release. Sweet Interference will then spend several months playing shows in DC and the Mid-Atlantic region in support of the album. At the end of the year, the band will focus on writing and recording new material and putting together a longer national tour in 2012.

Sweet Interference has been compared to bands such as Rilo Kiley, The Dresden Dolls and They Might Be Giants. Their music is melodic indie-rock reminiscent of early Pixies and Modest Mouse with a hint of The Rentals. Their songs deal with a wide range of themes from late night parties to falling in love to frustration in the modern world.

Sweet Interference is a 5 piece group consisting of: Moira Annelin (vocals), Chris Cortelyou (drums/guitar/vocals), Josh Klein (keys/vocals), Alex Marsh (bass), and Zach Mast (guitar/drums/vocals). The band has garnered press mentions in publications like DCist, Skratch Magazine and Express Night Out (Finalist for “Best Of DC”, Best Local Artist). They have also played extensively throughout the region.

Sweet Interference has released three full length albums to date: The Depths of Loneliness (2010), We Never Draw Hearts Anymore (2009) and Losing the Highway (2007).
