An awarded songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, voice), Summer creates vocally-driven electro-acoustic music that is candid, expressive, unpretentious... but most of all, genuine. She is also an accomplished painter and has created a collection of 300 poster-size pastel paintings of emotive female faces (called "The Girls") to go along with the 2008 release of her first full-length album Timing and Lighting. In a surprising move, she chose to give away these paintings to fans along with CD purchase. Her unique stage show, wherein she displays paintings and jumps between a keyboard, 4 acoustic and electric guitars, and a ukulele has received recognition by the likes of WXPN/World Cafe Live's “Philly Rising Contest” and earned her a title as one of “Portland's Top Ten Songwriters” by the Portland Songwriting Association.
