From: OH, United States
StoneSlinger is an American rock band formed in Canton, Ohio, in 2001 by guitarist and songwriter Andy Masalko and guitarist songwriter Mike Fisher. The initial lineup was rounded out by vocalist Todd Wolf Williams, drummer Kevan Phares, and bassist Neal Beard Franklin.
Although widely associated with Stoner Rock music, the band's sound incorporates both heavy and acoustical elements. Since its formation, StoneSlinger has produced and released 5 albums and has written over 50 original songs from 2001 to present day. The band is known for its distinctive energy on stage and a collective sense of humor in music.
With slogans such as "More Fog, More Lights, Less Music", the band was one of the most successful local music acts, traveling across the country and packing many of the venues that it played. Often accompanying national acts such as Megadeath, Fu Manchu, Thin Lizzy, CKY, Crowbar, just to name a few, they were known to put on an outrageous show. It was not uncommon to see good wrestling match ….with each other to end each performance.
StoneSlinger was originally a four piece band with Todd Williams(Vocals), Mike Fisher(Guitars), Neal Beard(Bass), Andy Masalko(Drums), and in 2003 revamped the lineup, switching Andy to Lead Guitar and adding Kevan Phares(Drummer for Warrant 2001-2003) to Drums In 2008. StoneSlinger switched up the lineup once again after Neal and Mike both parted from the band. Although never officially disbanding, the band remained playing over the next year or so, before taking a break. This hiatus would not last long because the band reformed in the beginning of 2011 with all original members.
The reunited and reenergized StoneSlinger played their 1st show back in May 2011, playing a two hour set to a packed house with over 20 tracks at Sadie Rene's in Canton, OH. StoneSlinger recently completed recording there 5th studio album, Solar Outlaws, with 12 new tracks. The album is currently available for sale.
