MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25th...’Further progress on the coming SMOKE AND GET HIGH (EP)...The many pitstops and delays have been constructive and well worth it.' This four-track EP includes the songs: “Smoke and Get High,” “Big Daddy (2013),” “West Coast Vibe,” and “Here Anyway.”
In the opening “Smoke and Get High,” Sitting Dove embarks on a battle-drum lament of his grueling first three years of making music, the state of global affairs, and his longing to rendezvous with his ‘little lady.’ In “Big Daddy (2013),” Sitting Dove feels that he has found 'the right music and flow'' to recreate his ‘epic historical perspective’ of the Federal Reserve Bank and the unfolding global corporate takeover. The smooth and dreamy “West Coast Vibe” combines the personal with the political, the old school with the New World in laying out a ‘fresh and expanded’ take on the proverbial ‘West Coast Vibe.’ The final statement of this debut comes with “Here Anyway,” an eerie, stripped-down reflection that creeps into other realms. When released, the SMOKE AND GET HIGH (EP) will provide a sonic peek into where Sitting Dove has been and where he plans to go... COMING SOON.
P.S. The cover of 2Pac's classic "Shorty Wanna Be A Thug" will be released soon after—hopefully by year's end ;-)
The Hip Hop act known as ‘Sitting Dove’ was formed October 2010 at a recording studio in Santa Monica, California. The concept of ‘Sitting Dove,’ however, had been incubating for years. One afternoon in the fall of 2007, a lone dove landed on the apartment stoop of another chewed-up and spit-out Hollywood wannabe. For some reason—possibly the California “smog”—this wannabe thought that the dove wanted its picture taken. So he grabbed his camera and took pictures for about twenty minutes as the dove “seemed to pose” for him. One image from that fateful day struck him deeply and eventually inspired him to create the Hip Hop act called ‘Sitting Dove.’
Operating out of proverbial HOLLYWOOD, Sitting Dove plans to send his distorted sonic waves worldwide as long as he’s compelled to do so. For more info, go to: www.sittingdove.com
