The sleepy little village of Neundorf, not far from the town of St. Vith in east Belgium, isn’t really a Mecca for musicians. In fact it is a rather uninspiring one-horse town really. Nevertheless several guys from Belgium and Luxembourg see it as the hub of their musical universe. „Some Kind of Rock“ is the name of the project born in January 2009.

The name says it all, five musicians wishing to carve out their own destiny with no restraints when writing songs. The band members all come from very different musical backgrounds which they strive to blend into a unique style. „In your face“-guitar riffs meet catchy melodies and straight rock intertwines with more progressive elements. That’s the panache known as S.K.O.R.

The band is on a mission: to transmit its high energy and simultaneously evoke emotion in its listeners.

Despite only being together since 2009, S.K.O.R. has already been turning heads and played gigs right across the country, the main highlights in 2010 being performances at two of Luxembourg’s most popular music festivals: Rock um Knuedler in the centre of Luxembourg City and E-lake in Echternach.

Now the band is eager to express their talent still further. “The journey to the cold side of the sun, Episode 1, The Awakening” is the title of S.K.O.R.’s first EP release that could well be described as a concept EP. As you listen to the tracks and read the CD gatefold transcript, a complete story unfolds before you. More than just a series of song, the EP plunges you deep into the band’s universe and imagination.

And that’s not it! As the title proclaims, this is Episode 1. The chronicle is set to continue…
