Rosy Likes Red is an alternative rock band formed in Washington DC during the spring of 2009. The band adopted their name from a short story by lead singer and founder Connor Kaos. With emotional lyrics, memorable melodies and a new wave/progressive sound, the band quickly developed a following while performing at venues in Washington D.C, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Georgia, etc... Some highlighted venues which the band performed at include The 9:30 Club, The Recher Theatre, Ram Jam Music Festival, Park Rock Music Festival, John’s Hopkin’s Spring Fest (’11, ’12), Sonar, The Ottobar, U Street Music Hall, Jaxx Nightclub and Jammin’ Java etc... After the release of their demo in the late spring of 2009 featuring the single, Girl, You Take My Breath Away, the band earned a spot at the 2009 Van’s Warped Tour, DC KIA/Kevin Says Stage, and they began their first tour of the East Coast. That December, the band recorded their original material for their debut EP, Things Left Unsaid, which was released during the summer of 2010. Following the release, Rosy Likes Red earned a spot on the 2010 Van's Warped Tour, DC/Ernie Ball Stage, and continued the summer touring the East Coast. Soon after touring both locally and abroad, the band’s EP was put on iTunes. Their versatility as both musicians and philanthropists has led the band to work hand in hand with a variety of non-profit organizations by hosting and performing at benefit concerts and spreading awareness to audiences about issues that affect the lives of the youth. Due to the bands exponential growth and widespread positive influence throughout East Coast communities, the Congressional Press Office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton soon after approached them. The band began working in partnership with the Congresswoman to become her own apparatus for youth involvement in DC. In the summer of 2012 Rosy Likes Red performed at The Congressional Art Competition, Music on the (National) Mall, and many other politically inclined events directed towards youth awareness. Rosy Likes Red is continuously working to establish a community of hope and responsibility for the youth.
