Reconnaissance Music

Hello, my name is Ricardo and I am the founder and guitarist of Reconnaissance. After participating with a couple of bands, I decided to make my own music by myself, so I picked up as many instruments as I could and I taught myself to play all of them (one at a time of course). Then I set up a recording studio at my house and put it all together. Even though I still liked to participate with other bands, I kept this as a record of my accomplishments as a one man band. this went on for a couple of years, until I got a call about participating at a battle of the bands. It was then that it became apparent I would need to recruit other musicians I could trust to perform live. I had worked with Topher for a good number of years in various bands, so I called him first and offered him the post of vocalist. He accepted. He then set out to search for a bassist and a drummer. That's when we decided to recruit Ryan and Travis to the band. Travis is a bassist I had worked with previously and although we've been at opposite sides of arguements, he was a fast learner and a dedicated musician. I actually had never met Ryan before this, seeing as he was a freshman in highschool the year I entered college. However, after seeing him play I saw he is one of (if not the best) drummer I had ever had the priviledge of working with. We struggled with the possibility of adding a rythm guitar, but we decided that keeping it to the 4 essentials of Rock and Metal would be for the best. However, after the original battles the band was created for were over, it became a necessity to the songwriting process to have another member join the band. Patrick was a loyal fan to the band who attended almost every practice without fail. He was also a musician. After some concideration and a short tryout process, Patrick was appointed rythm guitarist and keyboard player (depending on what the song needed), allowing Reconnaissance to begin writing new songs with a grander variety of tones. After a month and a half since being solified as a band, Reconnaissance won 1st place at the Gorilla Productions Tremont Battle of the Bands (12/28/08) and 3rd place at the Battle of the Bands Finals. They are now in the process of getting more shows and working on new songs.
