Randy and the Retreads
Biography

From: NY, United States

Genre: Country, Rock, Jazz, R&B

Randy was born in Toronto, and attended High School in Niagara Falls. He idolized Buddy Holly and started composing and singing rock and pop songs, and he played trombone in the school symphony. He tried to start a Motown inspired band, and auditioned for a rock band, and his best friend Joe Miquelon became a highly respected guitarist, but Randy got distracted by other things for many years. He attended universities in Toronto, Edmonton and Victoria. He had a career as a sociologist, (adjunct professor and social researcher) and then a lawyer. For five years his law office was in the Durham Region of Ontario. (He is also a legal resident of New Zealand. He lived and worked in Auckland and Wellington ten years ago teaching law and being a Senior Analyst for the Courts Dept.) He has finally returned to his "first love" - music. He now divides his time between his Toronto (Scarborough) office where he still practices law part-time, and his residence in rural Western New York "little Pink" where he rides his bicycle, lifts weights, composes songs and restores old motorcycles.

Doing family (divorce) law has inspired some of his country song lyrics,

his classic motorcycle hobby has inspired his "Biker Music", and his social science background has inspired his political "protest songs".
