Porterhouse is comprised of songwriters Finnur Bjarki, Hilmar Tryggvi and Þorbjörg Tryggva, who come from the small town of Hvolsvöllur, next town to the famous Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland.
Porterhouse released their debut album Spinal Chords on July 3rd 2010, and celebrated with musical performances and an exhibition of the album's gorgeous illustrations.The CD features performances from well known artists like Pétur Örn Guðmundsson, Einar Ágúst, Shay Dillon, Eyþór Ingi and Jón Þór & Skúli from Dikta.
The album is designed to enhance the listening experience via lyrics and paintings inside the book - artist Sigrún Jónsdóttir from Ásvellir has illustrated each song with a painting inspired by the album's music and lyrics. The Spinal Chord project is a tribute to the fight of Spinal Cord Injury awareness world wide, and has been released on iTunes and various online stores.
