Two guys in a basement wth a dream, in the downriver area of Detroit many years ago...Brian Phelps (Guitar) & Pete McMurdo (Drums, Then Bass) Starting writing & recording together in 1971. Chuck Hazey (guitar) was the first to join with Brian & Pete, & The Iron Cross was formed in 1972, Jim Porath joined on bass in '73. The Iron Cross lasted with Chuck & Jim until 1975, Then Brian & Pete formed a trio with bassist Matt Gore, Called YEP which lasted until 1977. From the late 70's to the mid 80's Brian & Pete wrote & recorded as a duo, along with many friends & former bandmates, then Brian's little brother, Dave Phelps took over on drums in 1987 as Pete moved to bass. The Plastic Fruit was born..Vince Harman joined as lead singer & on guitar in 1994. Lead singer, Jim Chorkey joined the band in July of 2009. Old friend & bandmate Chuck Hazey, still sings with the band from time to time, & Chuck's brother Phil, "fills" in on lead guitar .
