Heritage
Patrick was born in Suriname, South America and grew up on the Caribbean islands of Sint Maarten and Curaçao. As a result, he was exposed to a rich variety of music, which is vividly present in his music. Firstly, the island of Sint Maarten, which is half Dutch and half French, exposed him to music styles such as: soca ,calypso ,reggae, zouk, and kompa. Secondly, Curacao which is more Latin orientated, introduced him to a large variety of Curaçaolean and Latin music genres such as: tumba seú,tambu ,merengue ,salsa, son, bachata , mariachi reggaeton, and Latin rock. Lastly, the music of Suriname kawina and kaseko. However, from a vocal point of view he was always more drawn to African-American soul/R&B music. Hence, his music is a sweet blend of soulful singing and Caribbean rhythms.
Debut Album
After leaving to Europe for college, he enrolled into several music competitions which earned him first place at ``Festival Rhythm`` and ``R&B sound mix show”. Shortly after, he started working on his debut album: consisting out of carefully crafted songs that reveal his heritage. He collaborated with several artists including: Ghetto Flow, Ondrofeni, Orange Grove, and Shirma Rouse.
His debut single ``Fire`` earned him number one spots on several Caribbean islands. The main objective is to release the album in more areas of the world and spread Caribbean music. His debut album is due in fall 2010.
