OPIUM is a Hip Hop artist from Kansas City, Missouri. Tyler Groves (OPIUM) was born January 29, 1988 in Kansas City, Missouri. He started writing lyrics at age 10, and eventually later on wrote songs and played bass guitar for a couple local bands from 2004 to 2007. In 2008 he moved from Kansas City, MO to Phoenix, AZ and attended Conservatory Of Recording Arts & Sciences for recording and audio production. In 2009 OPIUM released the ‘Fabricated Violence’ demo. In 2010 OPIUM signed with Chalkline Musick LLC and re-released Fabricated Violence including extra tracks in June of that year, along with another album “Ballads With Junkeez” in October. He's opened for Brotha Lynch Hung, Boondox, Potluck, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, ABK, Twista, Haystak, Hopsin, Mars, Kung-Fu Vampire, and hes also performed for A&R Consultant Anthony “Scoe” Walker and Lenny S.(Vice President of A&R/Def Jam).
