Oz Middleton, former guitarist for various bands, stretched out on his own song writing project, donning the moniker ObsidianOz and pulling from decades of musical inspiration, Oz creates a mix of Alternative Pop/Rock, Reggae, R&B, and fused it with the British invasion influences to create SoulRock!
Dynamic shifts and driving poly-rhythmic themes, lyrical imagery, weaving textural landscapes of melodic twists in verse/chorus story telling.
ObsidianOz continued by winning numerous 'Battle of the Bands' along with awards and Banners. One song of the same titled cd, 'The Dream' won the coveted 'Track of the Day'
About the same time ObsidianOz became a six piece band to perform this new, fresh sound, live!
The band was formed, with some of the best of the best, with talents like Terry Shook on drums, John Engelmann/keyboards, Heidi Rodney/bk vocals percussion, Denise Williams/voc, Alex G/Bass and Oz on Guitar/Ld vocals (heard here on songs marked 'Live band').
The band has performed thought-out New York City's Greenwich Village.
In late 2010 the band went on hiatus.
