LPLD
Biography
San Diego based hip hop duo LPLD have caused quite a stir in their hometown and after many years in the rap business are primed to break out onto the national scene. The group consisting of “Numbiz” Carlos I. Rodriguez and “Blaze” Raul Cervantes has honed their style into something new and unique that is guaranteed to shake the hip hop industry to its core.
LPLD (Lost Product Latin Division) brings something new and fresh to hip hop, combining various influences and a true world style that is not only bi-lingual but bi-cultural. You can hear it in “Latinoz” where Spanish lyrics flow over an melodic sample reaching out directly to their Spanish heritage. Or in “Gotta Get the Loot” with its old school drum loop and smooth precise lyrical flow reminiscent of 80’s hip hop at its purest form. There are truly no limits to the ways you can experience music and LPLD’s new LP is the true embodiment of that belief.
Carlos (Numbiz) Rodriguez started out Djaying and quickly graduated into producing his own beats and honing his rap skills. He has shared the stage and performed with the likes of Pit-bull, E-40, Don Omar, Huey, DJ Quick, Mista Fab, Federation, Fat Joe and Young Joc and over the past 4 years he has performed in front of crowds across the world in California, Florida, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain and Italy. His tracks have been featured on radio stations internationally including “Back of the Club” Remix (Mashonda) and “I’m Sprung” Reggaeton Remix (T-Pain). He is also currently working on projects with The Dey, T-Weaponz, Danny Fornaris and others.
Raul (Blaze) Cervantes, the other half of the duo, brings his urban style and quick wit to the table as the second member of LPLD. Blaze burst onto the scene when he won the 2nd Annual Jammin Z90.3 FM MC Battle by beating out dozens of San Diego’s best rappers and taking the crown. He has parlayed that success into a number of things, from being featured on the Lil Flip remix of “Game Over” and many albums including “Lifestyles of The Sick and Famous” and “Sicko Seeds” (EMI Latin) to being featured on Television Tapatia’s Hip Hop Mania.
LPLD has been featured on San Diego’s hottest radio stations Blazin 98.9 and Jammin Z90.3 and numerous internet radio stations. They have been featured in the San Diego Reader and The Telescope (media type) and have performed live on Univision and MTV3. They are also currently featured on Def Jams Unsigned Hype CD due out this summer. Don’t miss what is sure to be the next big thing in the hip hop community.
