Michael Tracy is a versatile singer, songwriter, and guitarist out of Charlotte, NC. His energy, talent, and story-telling have earned him the respect of his peers and a growing fan base throughout the Southeastern US and beyond. In just a few short years since becoming a full time recording and performing artist, Michael has played hundreds of shows, won awards, and has shared the stage with some of the industries real heavy weights, including Styx, Foreigner, George Thorogood, Don Felder, Jefferson Starship, Dokken, and Zach Myers (Shinedown)

"Tracy takes his cues from an abundance of influences. Rock 'n Roll, Blues, 70's Rock, Country, Southern Rock, even Grunge are bundled together; fed into his personal psyche, re-organized with his perception, message and experience to be delivered with his own unique sound and scope. All this goes into the depth and poetic passion delivered" ~ Deborah Jennings / Rock Hill Herald

After releasing two self produced albums, "Enough Small Talk" (2011), and "Gonna Smile" (2015 Spectra Records) Michael has garnered notice by the notable production team of Bob Marlette and Sahaj Ticotin out of Los Angeles, CA. They are currently working on Michael's next full length album, "Love And Worries", to be released in 2016 with the first single expected in December of 2015. Michael's unique ability to capture catchy grooves along with interesting lyrical twists on universal themes coupled with his new team and a focus on mainstream radio quality productions by one of the industries most prolific producers, has raised high the expectations of Michael's future in 2016 and beyond.

"This is an up and coming artist that I can almost sense being a household name before too long" ~ All What's Rock

Michael's life and experiences are as diverse as the music and words that he creates. The eldest of six children, he was born in Minneapolis, MN and spent his early years as a mid-west farm boy until the age of 13, when his family moved West just outside Seattle, WA; where Michael would graduate high school. After a brief few months of attending college, he dropped out and followed his family (who had moved back out East), to Columbus, OH where he remained for a few years before joining the US Navy; he served most of his four year stint in Norfolk, VA. During this time Michael met his wife and soon after his first of two children was born. For the next decade Michael and his young family would go where he could work including Colorado, California, Ohio, Florida, South Carolina and finally landing in Charlotte, NC.

For all of his life Michael sought comfort and inspiration in music and literature. His love of the guitar he had played since a child, and the library of books he had consumed over they years would lead to writing his own words atop his developing rhythm and percussive guitar playing style. After stepping out into the local music scene, attending open mics and finding players to form a band, Michael quickly became noticed as a talented, no-nonsense, hard working artist who was willing to do the work and take the steps in order to develop his craft as a singer, songwriter, and performer. The last few years Michael has earned himself a Charlotte Music Award, a Best Songwriter Award with Creative Loafing, two Carolina Award nominations, multiple appearances on major Charlotte radio, and features in print across the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland.

"It's not Country, Americana, Blues or's Rock 'n Roll with all of that combined for a holy sound all its own" ~ Skope Magazine
