Malakite is named after a gemstone(malachite) believed to reflect ones true emotions and has been called the "mirror of the soul". The band began with the Hutson brothers who were later joined by the Fitzgerald’s. The collaboration of this band of brothers laid the foundation for their sound. Here’s what some listeners have to say- “a must listen I recommend them. Every track sounds clean and rocks” – Vito, “ SOMEONE, like the rest of your tracks, cuts cleanly and crisply through the genre clutter with a groove that slices directly to the heart with honest power. Like a sharp needle-of sweet truth and beauty it grabs, holds and sinks its hooks deep into my heart, impossible to ignore. This is music with teeth, heart, soul and big brass balls. ” - David Namerow, “Pure excellence!” - Dorinda Weaver, “Awesome throwback sound thrown forward at a time when pop music needs it!” - Spencer Joyce, “Yeah, these guys rock! Fantastic vintage rock and roll. It's got a lot of soul, and a pile of great influential sounds. I can listen to this alllllllll day.” - Take Away The Ugly, “~Very Well Done~ Absolutely Brilliant ~”- ONLY1REALITY, “Tried to write this while listening to "Girl I Never Told You...", but I had to stop and just listen - I love the sound!” - Amber Music Express.
Malakite has rocked venues ranging from the Concord Pavilion to house parties. Over the last decade there have been many changes, but the core of the band remains. With the resent addition of Justin Davis and Jake Robinson the band sounds better than ever. A six piece band producing raw rock n’ roll with mesmerizing vocal harmonies that leave you wanting more.
